Does Prometric accept calculator?

When testing at a Prometric Test Center or other testing location, Prometric staff can provide you with a hand-held basic calculator upon request. You may bring a non-programmable calculator that meets the criteria below and will be checked-in upon arrival.

What can you bring into Prometric?

Soft ear plugs (with no wires/cords attached) are permitted. Sound-reduction headphones are available at many test centers. Candidates will be prohibited from removing jewelry or articles of clothing, such as over-shirts or sweaters while in the test room.

How early should I arrive for an exam?

When to arrive… Arrive 15 minutes before your exam is scheduled to begin. If you arrive 30 minutes or more after the start of the exam, you will not be admitted to the exam room. You're required to remain in the exam room for the first 30 minutes of the exam.

The test timer will continue to count down during an unscheduled break. Breaks are only permitted in order to access the bathroom or lockers. Candidates are not permitted to leave the test center during the test.

What do I bring to an exam?

Stationery. You should bring pens, pencils, a ruler, a pencil sharpener and an eraser. Correction fluid/tape is not permitted. Stationery items should be placed loose on your examination desk, or in a transparent pencil case that invigilators can clearly see the contents of.

Why are calculators not allowed in exams?

One major concern is cheating. People can enter information into their calculators that may give them an unfair advantage on the exam, in essence using the calculator as a "cheat sheet". Having a professor verify that a couple hundred students don't have any information stored in their calculators isn't feasible.
